Money

As a student parent you may be eligible for additional funds. The University department Student Advice & Welfare Services (SAWS) administer the funds for all students. For information about what funds there are and whether you are eligible to apply see: www.uwe.ac.uk/advice/money

The Direct Gov website also contains lots of useful info on funding for student parents. See:

Pregnancy

If you find out you are pregnant during your studies then it is important that you book an appointment to see a faculty student adviser in your faculty. Based on the structure on your course they will be able to discuss what options are open to you. Things to consider include whether you will need to take some time out, what assessments will you miss etc. If you think you are going to miss any assessments because of maternity leave you need to ensure you have followed the correct procedures - your faculty student adviser will be able to assist you.
