The History Society welcomes all those interested in expanding their historical knowledge.History is much more than just a taught subject; it is a subject which everyone can enjoy through trips, talks and socials!

The society arranges trips to historic locations such as Bath, talks by distinguished historians and socials such as themed pub crawls.Talks and visits will cover a wide variety of topics and there is sure to be something of interest to everyone! Not all trips will be directly linked to History however as trips to venues such as theme parks are purely for socialising!

The Society holds the 2007 ‘Best Trip Award’ for our ‘Walking tour of Medieval Bristol’ and the 2008 trip Award’ for our ‘Welsh Castles Tour’. The Society puts much effort into trips to make them enjoyable to all! With socials and events every 2-3 weeks, it is a society worth joining!

Where They Train / Meet

The society holds regular meetings and socials throughout the year in historic pubs in the city and at the SU. Details of meetings and events will be on the facebook/twitter pages. Also e-mails will be sent to members.
