Description
The most dynamic club in UWE. Awarded "Club of the Year 2009" by UWE Student's Union.We offer white water kayaking, surf kayaking, individual and team competitions. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Bristol's local rivers and docklands or challenge yourself on raging torrents of Mountain Rivers and ride the Atlantic Ocean.
As one of the oldest clubs at UWE we have the advantage of many years experience in all disciplines of kayaking. At weekends we run day trips and weekend adventures to fantastic places such as the River Dart, Polzeath, Symonds Yat, Brecon Beacons along with an annual trip to the high Alpine Mountains. We hold weekly pool sessions and outdoor training sessions to teach you the basics and progressive skills.
Where they train/meet
We run weekly pool sessions at Bristol University Swimming Pool. These training sessions cover the basic strokes through to the more advanced techniques needed for both river paddling and canoe polo. Our pool sessions also include the random yet fantastic sport of canoe polo.Directions to the pool are available on our website.
We have regular socials in the centre of Bristol as well as various pub crawls and parties.
