Description
Jitsu is one of the few physical activities where women and men take part on equal footing. It's a 'team sport' because you can only improve by working together with other club members but it's an individual activity because your progress and development is individual to you.Jiu Jitsu was the system of self-defence, developed and practiced by the Samurai in Japan. With a wide syllabus employing locks, strikes and throws, jitsu is not a competitive sport, it's practiced as an effective system for modern self-defence.
All martial arts promise to provide self-defence, fitness, co-ordination and self-confidence. So why is Jitsu different? Firstly, if it's not enjoyable you won't keep doing it, we make training fun. Everyone learns at at their own pace but with a grading each term, you will be wearing your new belt at Christmas.
