Campaigning
Take a look at past campaigns and ones you can get involved in this year.
Make your mark!
When you are a student it is a perfect time to make your views heard and share them with others.
Why not run a stall, put on an awareness raising event, do some fundraising for a cause you feel passionate about or join an SU campaigning society.
Future campaigns could be bigger and better with your help! We already have some ideas and we would like to hear yours too!

Current Campaigns
The following campaigns need volunteers and leaders to take them forward.
Student Stop AIDS
The Student Stop AIDS Campaign is made up of students at universities and colleges across the country who believe that the world's response to the HIV pandemic is insufficient and unacceptable. Why not set up your own campaign or even set up a Stop AIDs Society? For the past two years students have led campaigns on campus for World AIDS Day on 1st December.
- There is also the opportunity to be a Development Trainer in schools taking the message out to young people in the community about HIV/AIDS issues and helping them to take action.
Student Union Societies involved in Campaigning
People and Planet Environmental Campaigns
Be an active student and campaign with People and Planet on campus and out in the community. There are plenty of opportunities to lead campaigns on climate change and other environmental issues. Have a look at what they're up to.
Amnesty International
A new UWESU society who are campaigning on human rights issues. The human rights issues they campaign on are down to their members - so it could be anything from women's rights to international poverty to the death penalty. They would love some other campaigners to get involved. More information about Amnesty International is available on the web or have a look at the what the society are up to.
Free Palestine Society
Do regular campaigning and stalls around campus.
Student Action for Refugees Campaigning
STAR is the national network of student groups working to improve the lives of refugees in the UK by promoting positive images of refugees, volunteering for local refugee projects, as well as campaigning for refugees. A brand new society is starting this year! Join up at fresher's fair.
