Club and Society Volunteering
Find out what you can get involved in if you're in a club or society.
Many clubs and societies have been involved in volunteering projects during '08/'09 and '09/'10 academic years and many have set up their own projects.
Check out the project and event archive for more information.
Ave It! Scheme
The Ave It! scheme is open to all student union volunteers and is here to recognise and reward the worthwhile work that you do for your activity.
Sport Coaching Courses
Members of clubs and societies can take part in sports coaching courses - CSLA (Community Sports Leadership Award) for general sport coaching training and JUICE (Joint Initiative for Coach Education) for sport specific training. The University will pay for the course and you will offset it by volunteering in the community. This is organised by the universities Centre for Sport.
UWESU Sports Fun Day
On Tuesday 11th November 2008, there was another Kids Spectacular Sports Day, building on the success of one that happened in 2007. 4 Student Union Sports Clubs/Societies: Netball, Women's Basketball, Volleyball and COMETS cheerleading ran sessions for a class of local infant school children...
Everyone involved had a brilliant day!
Another Sports and Activity Day is due to take place in March 2009.
Junction49 is looking for people to help on the day and also for sports clubs and societies who would like to run workshops for the children. Last term's event was very successful and lots of fun, so get involved!
