Job Description

The team of Freshers' Reps will be responsible for the set-up, delivery and shutdown of the events throughout Freshers' Week; they will also serve as a go-to person for anyone requiring information on the events and ensure that the guests are looked after and having a good time. Freshers' Reps are critical to the smooth running of the event and will assist and report to the Event Manager and Senior Event Operators.

Responsibilities:

• Pre-Event; promotion, ticket sales, preparing the venue for the events.
• During the event; greeting guests and scanning tickets, looking after and directing guests, getting the party started and providing assistance when needed (this could include identifying students in need of additional attention).
• Shutdown of event; ensuring the venue is returned to a required standard.
• To carry out other duties as required by the senior event staff.

To be considered for this role you must be reliable, punctual, hard-working, friendly and approachable and you must be available and flexible in September 2010. You must have the ability to work as part of a team, and have a strong initiative to work independently, be of smart appearance and have a high level of professionalism. The ideal candidate would have previous events or customer service experience but all staff will be trained to undertake the role. Due to the nature of events, it is also important that over these dates, Freshers' Reps remain loyal to the team and be flexible to work on short notice.

Duration: Up to 40 hours per week (13/09/2010-27/09/2010)
Pay: £6.43 p/h inc. holiday pay
