Silver Surfers Day - Wednesday 19 May, 11:00-14:45

We will be running a UWE event to encourage older people to start using computers and the internet!

We need willing volunteers to help tutor people in the basics. Interested? Email helen.seacombe@uwe.ac.uk

Silver Surfers Day is a national campaign to encourage older people to get online and try out computers and the internet. This is where you come in! Lots of older people are very unfamiliar with computers and find them really daunting and confusing. Come along and support someone, one to one, to learn the basics. You don't have to know loads about IT, just be confident using internet browsers, Windows, and Microsoft Word. Some of the Silver Surfers will be starting from the beginning, so patience and understanding is essential! It all happens on Frenchay Campus so it couldn't be easier to join in.
