Is the University building the stadium?

UWE is not paying for the build of the stadium, just the car park which we need to build to replace car park 20 when planning permission for that runs out. We are selling/leasing the land at market rate so we have funds to help with other upkeep/refurbishment of the campus

Will my tuition fee be paying for this ?

No. Bristol Rovers Football Club are buying the land from us to build their stadium.

Why are UWE doing this?

UWE works with schools and colleges in the region to help raise aspirations to university. Football Clubs can reach out to young people in ways we can’t. This is a great way for us to connect with our community.

The original plan was for a business park for this part of the site. Whilst that would provide employment for area, this goes a step further in providing facilities for our students, staff and the community.
